Our purpose at Taconic Educational Placement is to support you in finding the best possible educational or therapeutic alternatives to facilitate the success of your child and your family.

We will review your son or daughter’s current situation with you. Through carefully listening to the history, review of records, interviews with you and your child, and conversations with current service providers and educators we help you to identify what is and is not working.

With the picture clarified we identify resources and options from staying in the current situation with modifications or changes to seeking an alternative school or therapeutic placement.

You are the decision-maker. We provide you with expert, up-to-date information about services, programs, and options. We offer as much support and guidance as you need during your decision making process.

If you make the choice to transition your child to a different program or placement we stand by you at every step of the process from application, to transportation, to integration into the new setting.

We follow up with professionals to facilitate the smoothest transition possible, and we will stay in touch with you throughout your child’s initial stay and beyond. We may join you on family calls if indicated, and we may visit your child in their program setting.

As your child’s stay unfolds we serve as advocate for you and of course for your child. Communicating with teachers, counselors, and other staff, we keep a pulse on progress and help you manage any issues that might arise.

Positioning your child for a life of purpose and happiness is our goal. Whether we are involved for a brief interlude or work with your family over time your child’s success and development is our mission.
