Specific Behaviors/Concerns

Are You Concerned With Your Child’s Behaviors?

  • Poor or failing grades at school

  • Easily influenced by peers – susceptible to negative peer pressure

  • Poor motivation and carry through

  • On the “wrong path” or hanging out with the wrong crowd

  • Frequent or extreme expressions of anger

  • Attempts to manipulate you or others

  • Sleeping more or less than usual

  • Secretive or sneaky behaviors

  • Sexual promiscuity

  • In minor trouble with the law

  • Physically violent, especially at home

  • Lying or deceitful behavior

  • Stealing, from you or others

  • Loss of interest or engagement in favored activities

  • Spending inordinate amounts of time on the computer or with social media

  • Frequent absences from or refusal to attend school

  • Defiant toward reasonable rules, requests, and boundaries

  • Difficulty moving into responsible adulthood, or still living at home

  • Academically underachieving

  • Threatened with expulsion

  • Defiant toward authority

Struggle and strife are often considered hallmarks of growth on the typical path of teens and young adults.  And, if you are reading this wondering whether your son or daughter falls outside the “norm” it may be time to seek expert advice.  He or she probably does need additional assistance.
